When 19 year old Anna Cardile left her Pleasantville, New Jersey home on the evening of October 3rd, 1934, she didn't tell her family where she was going. The next time any of them saw her, it was to identify her body in a shallow, sandy grave. Police would follow every lead, collecting witness statements and evidence, but all was for naught.
