[00:00:18] Speaker A: Welcome to mini meditations. I'm Jennifer James, co host of the Common Mystics podcast. In this series, we'll be taking a few moments out of our busy lives to dive into the transformative power of meditation.
Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting to explore the world of mindfulness, I'm here to guide you through quick and effective meditative practices that can help you manifest your ideal life one moment at a time.
Today we'll embark on a journey to connect with a loved one who's passed away.
Before we embark on our meditation journey, let's take a moment to set a personal intention.
First, identify the loved one with whom you yearn to connect.
Say this person's name aloud.
Now decide on a symbol or sign that you would like them to use to signify their presence in your life.
You might choose a familiar spirit sign, such as a cardinal, a penny, or a butterfly. Or you could select a unique symbol.
[00:01:39] Speaker B: That holds special meaning for you.
[00:01:42] Speaker A: Pause here if you need time, then.
[00:01:46] Speaker B: Say the sign aloud.
Now lets begin.
[00:01:55] Speaker A: Find a quiet, comfortable space where you can sit or lie down free from distractions like noise or interruptions.
Once youve settled in, take a moment.
[00:02:08] Speaker B: To adjust so that you feel completely relaxed.
Begin by closing your eyes and take a few deep breaths in through your nose, filling your lungs completely with fresh air.
Hold for a moment, then exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing any tension or stress you may be holding in your body.
[00:02:39] Speaker A: As you breathe, focus on the sensation.
[00:02:43] Speaker B: Of the air entering and leaving your body, allowing yourself to become more present and centered.
[00:03:03] Speaker A: Now take a moment to imagine a.
[00:03:06] Speaker B: Warm, golden light surrounding you, enveloping you in an embrace of love and protection.
Visualize this radiant glow gently wrapping around you like a soft, comforting blanket, creating a safe and serene space.
With each breath, you become more and more relaxed, as if the light is melting away your stress and worries.
And with each exhale, visualize any lingering anxieties dissipating into the air, leaving you feeling lighter and more at peace.
Embrace this moment of calm as you surrender to the soothing energy surrounding you.
Now envision a beautiful, serene place in your mind.
This is a sanctuary where you feel completely at ease, deeply connected to love and tranquility.
Allow yourself to be fully present in this space, feeling the comforting embrace of this peaceful environment.
Now ahead of you, a beautiful white light begins to shine, gently illuminating the surroundings with its ethereal glow.
As you gaze at this heavenly light, it starts to grow brighter and larger.
After a moment, you recognize a figure emerging from its center.
Here you see your loved one bathed in the heavenly glow.
As they emerge gracefully from the light, their presence is enchanting and familiar, their eyes sparkling with love and recognition.
You feel an overwhelming sense of love and peace as they approach.
Their presence radiates warmth and comfort.
Know that they are here to connect with you on a deeper level.
Now your loved one stands before you.
If you feel at ease, express your thoughts to them, either silently or aloud.
Share with them the sign you wish for them to use to communicate with you.
Then listen.
Be receptive to any words, impressions, or feelings they may convey to you.
Take a moment now to reach out and embrace your loved one.
You feel your arms wrapping around them, gently feeling their energy radiate, vibrant and loving as it merges with your own.
As you hold them close, take a deep breath and let the warmth of their presence envelop you, paying attention to the emotions that arise in this intimate moment, noticing the subtle physical sensations like the gentle rise and fall of their breath against your body or the brush of their hair against your cheek, gently release your loved one from your warm embrace, feeling the lingering warmth of their presence as they slowly and gracefully retreat into the heavenly light, their figure shimmering softly against the glow as they fade from view, leaving you with an unmistakable sense that a part of them remains entwined with your very being, like a gentle whisper in your heart, reassuring you that love transcends even the boundaries of life.
When you feel prepared, gently return your awareness to the golden light of protection enveloping you.
As you wiggle your fingers and toes, this light begins to fade, guiding your focus back to the room.
And when you're ready, open your eyes, embracing a renewed sense of closeness and love.
As you go about your daily life, be open to seeing the sign from your loved one and feeling their gentle spirit embrace.
