S2E4: Voices of the Enslaved in Kaskaskia, IL

On this episode of Common Mystics Jennifer and Jill are led to the Illinois Mississippi Valley. In the early 18th century, the area was part of the French Empire. French settlers colonized the area and lived alongside Native Americans and enslaved peoples brought from the southern French territories. Our story takes place in 1748 at the Braseau homestead in the village of Kaskaskia where Madame Braseau would accuse Marie Jeanne, an enslaved woman, of savagely murdering her own child. Another enslaved person would bear witness to the heinous crime and testify in a court of law. But in true Common Mystics fashion, not is all as it seems. S2E3: The Missing and the Accused in Isadore, MI- Part 2

On this episode of Common Mystics Jennifer and Jill conclude their discussion of the mystery of Sr. Janina. In the summer of 1907 the lively nun disappeared from the small Polish community of Isadore, MI. In 1918, when plans for rebuilding the Holy Rosary Church were set in motion, her remains were found buried in the crawlspace beneath it. The housekeeper Stella Lipczynska was accused, tried and convicted of the murder. The media told the tale of Stella's jealousy and murderous rage. Yet some rejected this story from the very beginning. What is Jennifer and Jill's take on this tragedy? What information did they uncover psychically? Founded in the late 19th century, Isadore was a tight-knit Polish community that revolved around the church. Yet this peaceful place would be shaken forever during the summer of 1907.
